Over de wijn
Deze wijn komt van een unieke monopolie-wijngaard Edenkobener Mühlberg. Midden in het dorp groeit 2ha Riesling op twee terrassen. De grond is zwaar, maar de ondergrond is rode zandsteen. Het is omgeven door een zandstenen muur die zorgt voor een ideaal warm microklimaat. 'S Nachts echter, tijdens de rijpingsfase, behoudt een koele wind uit het bos de zuurgraad waardoor Mühlberg een ideale Riesling-locatie is.
Over het wijnhuis
Julius en Janina Berizzi zijn in 2019 begonnen met Weingut J.J. Berizzi in het pittoreske Edenkoben. Dit dorp ligt aan de Duitse Weinstraße in de zuidelijke Pfalz en biedt een fantastisch uitzicht op het Rijndal. Diepe bodems domineren hier, voornamelijk bestaande uit löss en klei. In hun eigen wijngaarden vinden ze ook hier en daar rode zandsteen in de ondergrond, waardoor de wijn een bijzondere minerale toon krijgt. Op bijna 20 hectare werken we nauwkeurig, met veel handwerk, om in het najaar gezonde druiven naar huis te brengen. Respect voor de natuur en biodiversiteit vinden we erg belangrijk,
Proefnotities
Citroengele kleur. Fijne aroma's van gekonfijte citroen, gedroogde sinaasappelbloesem en specerijen. Aangevuld met rijp fruit, toast, petroleum en prettige, subtiele reductie. Complexe, rijke Riesling met body, frisse zuurgraad en een fraai smakenpalet. Extreem lange afdronk.
